Christmas in Arkansas

This year we celebrated Christmas in Arkansas the week before Christmas. The kids of course had a blast! Taylor really just did alot of wondering around checking out other peoples gifts. Which, maybe if she didn't have an older brother, she would have a chance to open and possibly play with those things. LOL!

Dan and I decided to go out for the day while we were there. Of course, we did some shopping, looking, went to the movies, and ate at........CiCi's pizza. Well, after the movie, Dan started really not feeling to well so we went back home, and about 4 hours later.......food poisoning struck!!! GROSS!!!! Poor Dan. So our visit was extended a day longer, but that gave me a chance to do all of our laundry before we came home. Dan got LOTS of extra sleep.

First day of Winter...in Arkansas

We went to Arkansas the week before christmas, and the weather was great. Trent has been wanting to rake leaves for months now so this was a great time to do. This was Taylor's first time playing in the leaves! I think she enjoyed herself!

Letters to Santa

Trent has had his letter ready for Santa for weeks! We were gonna drop it off downtown when we went to the museum the other day but decided to wait until daddy was with us. I am glad we did. He works so much he never gets to do the fun stuff:-( Anyway this cute box is downtown on monument circle and they say you actually get a letter back from "Santa" too! We will see.

Baby its cold outside

Every year Trent and I make cookies. This year would be no different! He has been asking to do it for weeks now and Sunday it was so cold and a great time to do it. He had one ready and waiting for Taylor once she woke up from her nap. He is such a good big brother.

Its beginning to look a lot like CHRISTMAS!!

It's time to get the lights! So, off to the store I go! We were so excited, until Dan got the ladder out. It was not tall enough!!! So this year, just lights down low......but next year is another story!!!! We also got our first snow of the season, and I rushed out to buy Taylor her first pair of snow boots and snow suit. But by the time we were ready to go out, she was sick. Do you see a pattern here??

Sick or not sick, Trent HAD to go out. I thought this would be a good time to get the driveway shoveled. LOL. We were just getting finished when the neighbor came home and wanted to play, so Trent was out way too long and now, he is sick!!!

Have I mentioned that I love fall. That is what this is, FALL. And if we are getting snow and temperatures of 5 degrees, imagine what January will be like!! Oh well, ya gotta love Indiana.

The ELF is back!!!

This is our second year with the elf on the shelf. I will tell you that if you don't have it, GET IT NOW! We had so much fun with it last year! And Trent was so excited to get it started this year. He saw the box when we were unpacking Christmas stuff and he kept asking, "when will the elf come back?" He has ran downstairs the last two morning looking for him!

The concept is, the elf watches you all day, then when you go back to sleep he flies back to the north pole to tell Santa how you act. Only parents can touch the elf, because if kids touch him, he loses his magical powers. Every morning, you find the elf in a new place. And sometimes, he even makes messes, like pouring out the pepper, eating some cookies but leaving the crumbs. Overall, it is alot of fun.

Trent's getting big

Today was Trent's well check and I was surprised to see that he is still in the 90th percentile for height and weight! He was 46 inches tall and weighed 48lbs. Of course, he needs to eat more fruits and veggies but he is doing great! He had to do a worksheet with different things such as which is bigger, drawing a person, and other activities which he was great at. He did so much better than last year during his exam, the doctor even commented on how he had changed. Last year, he was terrified when he even saw someone come in the room with the stethoscope! This year, everything went great......until the shots. It was almost like wrestling a grown man, and I will leave it at that. He is still walking around saying, "we don't like shots, but we have to get them. I don't have to get anymore until I'm 6 right mom?" Here's to hoping next year is even better.
